01 // Why

Why I made it

I wanted to see whether I could build the foundation of a life sim on my own in eight weeks.

The goal wasn't a finished game. It was a solid, modular base that's easy to understand and could grow into a full game later.

02 // How

How I built it

I planned it in a technical design document first, then built each system to be modular and easy to extend.

Needs decay over time, skills change how you use world objects, and objects raise or lower your needs and skills. A build mode lets you buy, sell, and place objects.

An AI takes over when you go idle and keeps your needs topped up, using an object manager that finds what helps each need the most. Stats and objects save locally, with analytics on top.

04 // Features

What's in it

  • Five needs that decay over time: hunger, thirst, energy, hygiene, and belief
  • Let a need hit zero and your character dies
  • Four skills that level up to 10 and make interactions quicker: faith, plumbing, crafting, and cookery
  • Modular objects, each with its own prices, need and skill effects, cooldown, and sound
  • Build mode: buy, place, move, and sell interactable and decorative objects
  • Going to work: head out the door, eight hours pass, and you come home paid
  • A world clock you can pause or fast forward
  • Camera controls to pan, rotate, zoom, and follow your character
  • An AI that takes over after 20 seconds idle, roams, and tends to any need below 25%
  • An object manager that finds what helps each need the most
  • Local saving for stats and objects
  • Game analytics
