01 // Why

Why I made it

Most crafting systems use up ingredients to make a fixed item. I wanted to challenge that and test a different method: every ingredient has a hidden ideal value, and fuzzy logic grades how close your mix gets.

It's a systems prototype, so the art is placeholder on purpose. The interesting part is the logic underneath: the appraisal, the Clarity score, and how that one number sets both a potion's price and how well it works.

Once you work out a good potion by hand, you build a production line that makes it for you.

02 // How

How I built it

Ingredient combinations are generated fresh each session, so recipes have to be discovered rather than looked up.

Potion quality is judged with fuzzy logic, so you get graded results rather than a simple right or wrong.

Cauldrons and machines are placeable entities with their own settings, which is what turns brewing into automation.
